Photography is an art driven by science. Before you can be free to concentrate on creative images you must have an understanding of the technical side of photography. While some photographers just leave their camera on automatic (P) and shoot away those that wish to be in control to “make” images rather than just to “take” images know that is not enough. Furthermore, cameras cannot think and interpret the scene you are pointing at. This tutorial above (reduced in size for the web) covers the camera’s metering system and discusses how the camera will fail you and why your exposures are not always correct.
